“Champ-de-Mars is a transition between the new and old cities, a junction between underground Montréal and the sky. It re-examines the various potential uses of the space by people as they move through it. The movement of bodies through space illustrates the cordiality necessary to reconnect solitudes. Through their movements, users experience a transition that is magnified by the make-up of this new kinetic topography.”

“The jury chose this proposal because of its topographical explorations, which afford diverse experiences for visitors walking between the Champ-de-Mars and Place- d’Armes métro stations. Members also appreciated the intelligent implementation of buildings in the western end of the site, which would frame and redefine the city blocks.”
