The mobile microlibrary

July 24, 2016, is the start date for a new activity in Montréal-Nord parks, provided free of charge to young and older. The microlibrary offers a selection of books on architecture, geometry, urban design, and built landscapes that can be browsed and read freely onsite.

The Bibliothèque Yves-Ryan, in collaboration with LAAT and Microclimat, has created a microsite for discoveries by residents. Follow the collection, identifiable by the small blue canopy, which will be on the move throughout July and August in the many green spaces all over the borough.

The co-founders of LAAT will facilitate an architecture workshop based on the books in the collection for ages 6 and up. They will introduce the concept of space via a folding craft activity for younger explorers and a drawing activity for the more visually oriented.

Thinking workshop on space and landscape

The co-founders of LAAT will present a summary of thoughts on the mobile public microlibrary project. The book collection will also be highlighted in reference to the project and to help spark the young creators' imaginations.
