Architectes en série is a video series documenting projects published in the reference manual of Québec’s association of private-practice architects. They feature interviews with architects along with their collaborators and clients that provide insights into their work and added value.
Episode 3 of Architectes en série explores the work of architects via the example of the Grand Théâtre in Québec City. Christian Bernard, senior architect and Partner with Atelier 21, Éric Pelletier, Senior Partner with Lemay, and Gaétan Morency, President and CEO of the Société du Grand Théâtre de Québec, present the innovative solution that was developed to address the obsolescence issues affecting this jewel of modern Québec built heritage. The exemplary intervention not only saved this architectural work; it also highlighted and beautified it. This episode also provides insights into the importance of the collaborative work among professionals, contractors, subcontractors and the client in delivering innovative solutions to complex problems, with architectural quality as the ultimate objective.
AAPPQ partner ELEMA collaborated on this project.
