Half-Moon Wallet

With her textile creations, Ute Wolff fulfils a need for sensual, contemplative objects as a counterpoint to the digital age. She blends industrial technologies with craft-based techniques, favours material, graphical and formal research, and enjoys shifting materials away from their primary functions. Her work aspires to richness disguised as simplicity.

Along with a wallet, half-moon wallet, and passport holder, utewolff gives us Traces, a series of cases inspired by winter in Québec. Skis, skates and snowshoes are die-cut into the material and revealed by strokes of paint.

Each case can house treasures of all sorts; you can use it to hide whatever you like—even a bit of yourself.
