Marc-Favreau Library

The series Archi branchés, hosted by Marc-André B. Carignan on Canal Savoir, is dedicated to architects and features tours of their latest achievements, as well as municipal stakeholders who contributed to the projects. Episode 1 of the series looks at the Marc-Favreau Library, for which a major architecture competition was organized by the Borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie and Montréal’s Culture department in collaboration with the Bureau du design.

The library has been hailed as a huge success since it opened and is a prominent symbol of the revitalization of the area around the Rosemont métro station, a neighbourhood destined to become a model for urban planning that embodies sustainability principles, a focus on families and social mix. Marie-Hélène Lessard, Chief of Property Management for the City of Montréal, explains her department’s role in the completion of this project.

Archi branchés is a co-production of AGLA Médias and Bell Local in collaboration with Montréal’s Bureau du design and the Ordre des architectes du Québec.
