Manitoba

It might not have worked in Manitoba. But it has certainly taken root here. With all the woodsy ingredients on the menu, the forest-like décor feels totally natural. With an urban edge, of course, given its Mile-Ex location. The post and plank bar, blackened to make it seem less rustic, creates an instant (photo) synthesis between nature and the city. The light comes through the white cedar strips on the ceiling as if filtering through leaves. Wild but very civilized.
