The Borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville is holding a Québec-wide landscape architecture competition, in two (2) stages, for development of a green area at Place de l’Acadie, located southwest of the intersection of boulevards de l’Acadie and Henri-Bourassa.
The project includes the revegetation of the site and the addition of mist makers. The preliminary budget is of the order of $1 million and the total area of the space involved is 3152 m2.
The competition will address challenges related to the formal representation and planning of a public square and its harmonious integration with the surrounding urban landscape. The main thrust of the project is the laying out of a green area to help combat the urban heat island effect.
To allow for the elaboration and evaluation of different concepts, leading to the selection of a winning project. After the choice of winning project is ratified by the Borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, the winning team will be awarded a contract to develop the technical drawings, plans and insure worksite surveillance.
The clarity and transparency of the process favour equal access for all prospective entrants. The competition stems from an approach promoting quality landscape architecture in Québec. Evaluation of both experience and ideas will result in the selection, once the competition process is complete, of a qualified winning team able to produce an innovative solution for the Borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
The competition is:
- A landscape architecture competition
- For architects in Québec
- Held in two stages: The first by application and the second, by paid services submitted by four finalists.

Stage 2 - Finalists’ submission
