UQAM awards honorary doctorate to Marie-Josée Lacroix
The Bureau du design team warmly congratulates Marie-Josée Lacroix, City of Montreal's first Design Commissioner, on being awarded an honorary doctorate by the Faculty of Arts of the Université du Québec à Montréal on June 4. This recognition coincides, give or take a few days, with the anniversary of UNESCO's designation of Montreal as a City of Design in 2006.
We would like to thank UQAM for recognizing Marie-Josée's great contribution to Montreal's international profile, and to the very definition of the values and principles on which the Bureau du design's work is based. These include promoting the next generation of designers, democratizing design and improving public commissioning processes.
Would you like to join us in celebrating this recognition? Mark your calendars now for the closing event of the 50th anniversary of the École de design de l'UQAM on September 3, 2025, starting at 5 p.m. at the Centre de design.
See UQAM's press release for more information on the 2025 honorary doctorates.
