Prestigious architecture award for Kanva’s IMAGO

December 1, 2016

Excellent news for Montréal-based architecture firm Kanva and for the city of Montréal! The IMAGO project, which was the winning concept in the Ville de Montréal’s design competition to enliven the worksite along Rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest during its revitalization, took home the Award of Excellence at the Canadian Architect 2016 Awards of Excellence ceremony, held on November 30, 2016.

This ambitious project, consisting of a series of inflatable, mobile biomorphic structures, is on a scale befitting Rue Sainte-Catherine. As the city’s flagship commercial artery, this landmark street has a strong, distinctive character. The enveloping structure will change along with the various phases of the work, helping users understand the work sequence and view the street’s metamorphosis.

The Bureau du design of the Ville de Montréal congratulates the entire team at Kanva, which has been contributing to Montréal’s reputation locally and internationally for a number of years now. Bravo!
