Textile designer Monique Ste-Marie likes to infuse tradition with a modern aesthetic, using an artisanal loom to craft beautiful, simple baskets for the home inspired by the everyday objects of long ago. She works exclusively with plant fibres, especially hemp, both supple and resilient. The designer studied at the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles, where she mastered heritage techniques.
