The Power of Design in Responding to Global Crisis and Affecting Change

The UNESCO Creative Cities of Design network, which unites 40 cities around the globe, organized an open virtual discussion on “The power of design in response to the global crisis and rebooting the world”. In a discussion broadcasted from Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 office, cities have shared with over 1,700 viewers, current issues and COVID-19 emergency design practices and experiences from around the world. Inspiring!
This international panel discussion on inspiring case studies from within the Cities of Design network focused on how innovative design solutions have been used to support communities to adapt, stay safe and keep connected during these unprecedented times. The cities of Cape Town, Dundee, Geelong, Helsinki, Kortrijk, Montreal, Saint-Etienne, Singapore, Kaunas, Curitiba and Wuhan presented projects in the panel session.
