The Bureau du design of the Ville de Montréal, the UNESCO Chair in Landscape and Environmental Design at Université de Montréal and the Cité du Design de Saint-Étienne are organizing for the XXIV Entretiens Jacques Cartier a luncheon-conference presented by the Board of Trade of Metropolitain Montreal for which the general theme is focused on design as an instrument for the economic development and reconversion of cities.

For many years, the cities of Saint-Étienne and Montréal have been collaborationg on the organization of international meetings for the Entretiens Jacques Cartier on the theme "Design and City".

They explore the strategis role of design and of the strategies put in place by different cities and regions to

  • better their quality of life and living environment
  • express their identity
  • facilitate mobility
  • convert and stimulate their economy
  • retain workers
  • promote theirs citizens' well-being

This forum is preceded and followed by two invitation-only activities :
