Urban Design Ideas Competition

In the Architecture category, 10 proposals were submitted, with 2 winners and 1 mention selected by the jury. Following an online vote, a “people’s choice” award was also determined.

In the interest of transparency and openness to emerging designers, the selections were made on the basis of proposals submitted anonymously by contestants.

In this category, the jury rewarded participants who proposed to consolidate strategic sectors of the Quartier latin, along with planning concepts that reconcile work and housing.

The Société d'habitation et de développement de Montréal (SHDM) and the borough will work with the winners to implement housing typologies that offer new ways to live in the city.

The jury selected two winners rather than just one. The winners will each receive a $10,000 prize, and the $25,000 contract will be divided in two.
