In total, 20 Québec architecture firms and groups of firms submitted application packages containing profiles of the firm(s) and the teams that would be assigned to work on the project, while explaining their experience in similar projects, how they would structure work, and their understanding of the project and its challenges. The submissions were studied by a jury of seven experts supported by a professional advisor.
At the second stage, the four finalists will each develop a concept responding to four development requirements: design, sustainable development, integration of new information technologies, and concern for the family aspect of the project. Each of the teams will be paid $55,700 to complete the second stage, as established by the Ordre des architectes du Québec (OAQ).
The name of the winning team chosen by the jury will be announced in February 2010.
