A call will be issued in January 2025 for the design of the Bibliothèque du quartier Villeray and redevelopment of Parc Le Prévost.
The future library-garden, set to open in 2030, will provide neighbourhood residents with an accessible, welcoming destination where they can gather.
The new library, which will target Passivhaus certification, and the adjacent Parc Le Prévost will be located at 7355 Avenue Christophe-Colomb in the borough of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension. The site, centralized and adjacent to the Jean-Talon métro station, is already well known to the local community as well as visitors, thanks notably to the Patro Villeray community centre, the existing Parc Le Prévost and the nearby Maison de la culture Claude-Léveillée.
