In 1955, six architects with strong personalities and diverse backgrounds decided to found Affleck, Desbarats, Dimakopoulos, Lebensold, Michaud & Sise. In the 1970s, the firm was renamed Arcop. Throughout its history, the firm has had a great influence on Québec and Canadian architecture. Since 2014, six architectural studios have joined forces to form Architecture49. This new entity combines the experience and reputation of Arcop, AE Consultants, North 46, PBK, Smith Carter and WHW Architects and has 300 professionals across Canada. The Montréal office of Architecture49 carries out large-scale projects in the heritage, cultural, education, sports and leisure, transportation, commercial and residential sectors.
