The Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough is organising an architecture competition for the construction of a cultural building and library.
The Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Cultural Centre will be located at 6400 avenue de Monkland in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough. The construction budget for the project is $11.5 million, and its total surface area will be about 4375 m2.
The competition mainly covers the formal description and planning for a cultural centre including a library and multipurpose room, and its integration in its surroundings.
The Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Cultural Centre competition is part of a process intended to promote high-quality architecture. This clear and transparent process encourages equal access. By combining experience and ideas, the competition will lead to the selection of a qualified firm able to produce an innovative solution for the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Cultural Centre.
The competition is intended to select a winning project. Once the winning project has been approved by the project owner, the winning team will be invited to take part in carrying out the project.
This competition is an architecture competition of the Ordre des architectes du Québec.
The competition is:
- An architecture competition
- For architects in Québec
- Held in two stages: The first by application and the second, by paid services submitted by four (4) finalists.
Stage 1: Call for candidates
All Quebec architects who are members of the OAQ are invited to form teams and submit an application to the jury. The competitors chosen at this stage will then be invited to submit as finalists.
Stage 2: Presentation by finalists
A remunerated concept sketch. The jury will select a winning project from the submissions received and recommend it to the project owner, for the award of a mandate.
The competition is open to Quebec architects and architectural firms.
Teams may include Quebec engineers and engineering firms (structural, mechanical, electrical or civil). It is strongly encouraged that an accredited LEED professional be included in one of these disciplines.
The jury, which is the same for both stages, comprises the following individuals:
